ARE YOU TRYING TO
MAKE A GAME?
So which one are you
- the artist, the programmer or the musician?
Huh? which one, which one? You've been trying
to make it on your own, but you're not sure
what to do. Or you've been working with
a team, and every time you get your part
done, your dumb friends can't finish their
part! Ya know, we get resumes from people
all over the world who are only half as
cool as you are, so why haven't you sent
us yours yet?
Send
us your resume and tell us why we
can't live without you!
Email us at:
In the subject line
of your email, specify your MAIN SKILL.
Examples:
If you are an Artist, your subject
line should be "Artist"
If you are a Programmer, your subject
line should be "Programmer"
If you are a Musician, your subject
line should be "Musician"
If you are multi-talented (an Artist and a Programmer),
please pick your single greatest
strength and title your email accordingly. While
experience in many fields is extremely
valuable, a "jack of all trades" is
less valuable than
an individual who knows their strengths
and weaknesses and can identify their
specialty.
A word of advice:
You
should always provide a link to your online
portfolio, featuring screenshots,
example code, mp3's - whatever files
are appropriate to your profession. Your
resume
featuring examples of your work experience
and references should also be available
on your website. If you don't have an
online portfolio yet, you should make one
first
before sending your resume to gaming
companies. Gaming companies get tons of resumes
and
need an easy way to check out your
work.
If you don't have very much experience yet,
that's ok. Don't be intimidated. Just put
together an online portfolio of what you've
done so
far,
and let it grow from there. You can always
send new resumes as your experience grows.
Good luck!
